Research into the lives of fungi furthered my knowledge of The Bridal Veil Stinkhorn Mushroom- inspiring the creation of a costume based off this fascinating species.
I was drawn to the rapid growth of said mushroom, concepts of decay, and looking into the resilience of fungi in both urban and rural environments.
As a performative piece, I took this costume on an outing into The London Underground (an underground urban environment) to both challenge the constraints of "normalcy" and pushing for ideas of growth and nature within metropolitan human societies.
